Casper

Treeing Walker Coonhound - Adult - Male
Adoptable Large Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Casper is a very good boy, but big and a bit goofy 🙂 He loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home and has learned to ignore the cats.

He’s comfortable riding in a car and will hope in readily. He lacks confidence in new situations, but once he knows he can trust the person holding his leash he’s very outgoing, especially with people. In March 2018 he weighed 50 lb and should grow some more. His birthday is guesstimated in Aug. 2017.

Casper is leash-trained and house-trained. He can be trusted loose in the house overnight. He’d like to sleep on the bed, but that isn’t allowed in his foster home so he lays on the floor right next to their bed.

He loves to run, so is praying for a home with a doggy friend and fenced-in yard, or someone who enjoys being outdoors and will take him along. He likes to chew, so chewies and toys should be available at all times.

UPDATE – Strangers came to the neighborhood, and Casper advanced toward them with alert barking. His foster walked toward him and a soft call brought him back to her. The strangers drove over to tell them what they were doing in the neighborhood (Duke Energy checking lines). Casper positioned himself between the strangers and his foster mom without additional barking. What a perfect guy!

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

All adoption fees cover two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our veterinarian. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply. We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
