Sophie

Feist - Greyhound - Adult - Female
Adoptable Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

Sophie was surrendered. The owner’s daughter left her when she moved out and they tied Sophie outside – she barked obnoxiously. They decided to surrender her to our local animal control which must euthanize when they’re overfull. Sophie was blessed by an advocate who asked us to pull her to rehome. She has a great personality and love for people, despite this rough patch in her life.

Her guesstimated birthday is in Oct. 2014. She’s not a fan of other dogs, but will tolerate them if they’re polite. If they get into her space, she will snap and growl, but doesn’t follow up with any additional aggression.

Her foster feeds her in a crate so she can feel food secure. She will growl at other animals if they approach her food. She takes treats with the whole pace in attendance without growling. She can patiently wait her turn for a treat.

Cats are okay. She hasn’t shown any interest in toys. She’s crate-trained, leash-trained, and house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. Her foster doesn’t allow her free roam of the house yet.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

All adoption fees cover two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our veterinarian and surgery occurs as agreed upon. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply. We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
